It’s amazing how much our daily habits affect our lives.  It usually isn’t the big things we do that determine the life we live and who we become.  More often it’s the small and seemingly insignificant choices we make and daily habits we have that really make the difference.

A great way to get on course for reaching a goal in life is to decide what goal you want to reach and when you want to reach it.  Then work your way back and figure out what habit you have to be involved with every day in order to accomplish that goal.  For example, if you have a goal of reading through the New Testament in one year, you simply need a habit of reading 22 verses each day.  If you want to save $1,000 over the next year, a habit of putting away $2.74 per day will get you there.  And if your goal is to lose 25 pounds over the next six months, you simply need to make changes in your diet and exercise that will cause you to lose just one pound per week.

God has put in you the ability to fulfill your desires and reach the goals that you want to reach.  By making small and simple changes you can accomplish great things.  And never underestimate the power of God’s Spirit to help you in your efforts.  Always remember Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”
